Week 2 - Our Team



Team Members:

Established Roles:
Yuki Igarashi – Team Leader/ Documenter
Responsibilities:
  • Managing and leading the team throughout the project
  • Monitoring project progress and measuring team’s progress to keep on track
  • Update our progress on Wiki and keep it up to date

Tharida Rattanajaturon – Secretary/ Programmer
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures there are clear communication paths within the team and the organisation throughout the project
  • Development and operation of technical programming for the project
  • Update personal progress and research onto wiki

Olivia Cheung – 3D Modeller/ Crysis Environment
Responsibilities:
  • Create and refine all 3D models needed for the project
  • Prototype creation
  • Update personal progress and research onto wiki

Ben Filler – Documenter/ Multimedia Designer
Responsibilities:
  • Documentation and analysis of current and future work done in the project
  • Graphic design and video editing
  • Update personal progress and research onto wiki

Sre Janani Gnanamurthy – Programmer /Arduino
Responsibilities:
  • Overall management and coordination of programming to prototyping team
  • Development and operation of technical programming for the project
  • Update personal progress and research onto wiki

Design Ideas:
·         Automated Garbage Disposal System
o   Purpose
§  Easier way to dispose garbage for a disabled person
o   Sensors
§  Tracking system for the garbage bin
§  Gesture control for separating disposal (recycle/non-recycling)

·         Automated Alarm and Locking System
o   Purpose
§  To lock the house without going through every room and be able to lock the house with a push of a button
o   Sensors
§  Hand gesture control for shutting and locking all doors and windows
§  Facial recognition for who unlocking the house for security purposes

·         Automatic Bed Heater/Cooler
o   Purpose
§  To make the bed a comfortable temperate for the user
o   Sensors
§  Health tracking to check user’s body temperature
§  Thermo sensor to collect room temperature

·         Mechanical Storage System
o   Purpose
§  To be able to store boxes in a high shelf to save space
o   Sensors
§  Hand gesture control for moving boxes
§  User recognition for identifying which box is there’s on the shelf

·         Bathroom Pressure Mat for Elderly People
o   Purpose
§  As the bathroom is the most dangerous room in the house for an elderly person, a call will go out if the user has fallen over and activates the pressure sensors
o   Sensors
§  Pressure sensors in the mats to activate alarm if more than a certain percentage is active
§  User recognition as to who is in the bathroom and any medical information associated to them
